      Overview

Automotive manufacturers can reduce development time and costs if they partially replace physical crash tests with virtual tests according to the Euro-NCAP procedure. However, this requires high demands on transparency, traceability and model validation. The article shows how a Simulation Process and Data Management (SPDM) system helps to integrate virtual testing into existing simulation processes and to automate it efficiently.

      Key Points:

      • Fewer physical crash tests: Virtual tests accelerate development and reduce costs.

      • SPDM as a central platform: Integration of test and simulation data as well as requirements into an end-to-end workflow.

      • Automated processes: Model setup and result analysis are automated, and results are prepared in interactive reports.

      • Secure and traceable data: Traceability and tamper protection through automated data validation.

Result: Virtual testing is integrated into the development process efficiently, transparently and reliably with SPDM.
