The BMBF research project C³ has won two awards: the German Sustainability Award as well as the German Natural Resources Efficiency Award.

Within the joint project SCALE is entrusted with the partial project to develop a Technical Information System TISC³ with focus on integration of a simulation data management. The objective is a software system for the simulation data management which fulfils the requirements concerning the experimental as well as the simulative field.

With approximately 130 partners from research and development C³ is probably the biggest construction research project in Germany. The aim of the project is to develop and establish textile-reinforced concrete, an artificial composite consisting of high-performance concrete and carbon fibers.

In about ten years, 20 percent of the reinforced concrete used to date should be replaced by eco-friendly and durable textile concrete. The use of textile-reinforced concrete makes an important contribution to resource conservation, increasing energy efficiency and CO2 reduction.

The innovation and sustainability commitment of C³ project has now won the German Sustainability Award. Even the German Natural Resources Efficiency Award went to the C³ consortium. The project has won in the category ‘research institutions’.
