      Overview

Generative AI, machine learning and modern SDM/SPDM systems are fundamentally changing CAE workflows. By integrating AI directly into simulation data management, intelligent engineering environments are emerging that support simulation experts in analysis, automation and problem solving.

      • SDM systems are evolving from simple data repositories into central AI platforms for CAE processes. They link simulation data, models, versions and workflows in a structured and traceable environment.

      • Generative AI supports engineers directly in their work processes, for example through chatbots for simulation data, automatic documentation, as well as AI-assisted pre-/post-processing and debugging workflows.

      • A central use case is AI agents for job analysis and troubleshooting. They analyze solver and process logs, identify root causes using RAG and knowledge-graph approaches, and propose appropriate solutions including relevant SDM data and artifacts.
