Information
Subproject title
KupferDigital2 | AI-based Material Cards and Ontology-driven Process Mapping
Content
SCALE is collaborating with leading partners in the research project KupferDigital2, which aims to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the copper lifecycle through innovative digital solutions. The project runs from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2028, and is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
At the heart of SCALE GmbH’s subproject is the development of AI-based calibration methods for copper material models and ontology-driven process mapping. The goal is to make the entire copper lifecycle – from production through processing to recycling – more transparent and efficient. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies, resources are conserved, and the circular economy is promoted.
SCALE contributes its expertise in digital process optimization and the application of artificial intelligence to the project. The methods developed not only support the optimization of material models but also offer new approaches for the sustainable use of copper.
KupferDigital2 makes an important contribution to digitalization and sustainability in the industry. The project results can be transferred to other metal processing industries, thereby advancing digital materials research.
The project is conducted under the funding reference number (FKZ) 13XP5230J.
